"BABY WITH A GUN" , oil paint and shag carpet on canvas
Back Ground for this Painting
I witnessed people moving to Detroit City, as an opportunity to buy a house for a dollar.
This painting investigates the mythology of the Frontiers. "Come to Detroit or Come West young man" mythology."
The original name of this 19-foot-tall painting was: "The Rebirth of Detroit, Come and Get IT."
To my absolute stupor, saw that people stopped at the shag carpet's enticement and did not look farther, not noticing the baby being born had a gun pointing at them.
To help the audience, I changed the Title to: "Baby with a Gun."
